Voices: Every student is unique — celebrate school choice

Jan. 24-30 is National School Choice Week, a time to celebrate the educational options open to families across the state.

For many children in Louisiana, school choice is critical. Parents deserve to have meaningful options about where to send their children for public education, and that choice should not be restricted by a zip code or income. I urge families to take advantage of the opportunity to evaluate the available public, charter, online and magnet school options, and consider what type of program is the best fit for their children’s learning needs and long-term personal growth.
