Virtual charter school enables students to explore creativity

Reagan Martignetti doesn’t miss traditional schooling.

The 15-year-old Bossier City gymnast started high school at Parkway High School last year but switched to Louisiana’s virtual charter school as a sophomore to accommodate her busy schedule.

“It’s easier because I get more done and have a lot more breaks,” she said. “I babysit almost every day and do gymnastics, and if I don’t have anything else to do, then I’ll start on the next week of school.”

The school — Louisiana Connections Academy — is another option for families seeking a different path in their child’s education, according to marketing and parent outreach manager Shelly Centanni.
