Board Member Focus: Robert Evans, Choice Foundation

How did you become involved with this charter school? Jim Swanson and James Huger asked me to join in 2007.

Why did you say yes when asked to serve? I have always been interested in education reform and thought charter schools were a great way to accomplish that. Working with Choice Foundation is fulfilling those goals.

What was compelling about the opportunity? I wanted to be involved in governing a school. I saw the challenge of it and need for it based on how badly our children have been educated.

What leadership roles have you held while serving on the board? The main role is my current one, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Choice Foundation.

Is there anything you know now that you wish you had known before? Not really.
