As President of the Board of Directors of the Maxine Giardina Charter School, located at 100 Afton Drive adjacent to the campus of Nicholls State University, I am currently accepting applications for the following administrative vacancy:

Principal, Maxine Giardina Charter School (MAX), chartered in the State of Louisiana under the auspices of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education as a Type Two Charter School with a mission dedicated to students with Dyslexia and Related Learning Disorders

Length of Employment: 230 days

Salary Range: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience

Packets may also be hand-delivered before the above deadline in an envelope marked “Application for Principal Position, Maxine Giardina Charter School” to the Center office located at the corner of Ardoyne and Madewood Drives on the Nicholls campus. Any applications received after this deadline will not be considered.

The packet shall contain the following:
1. a full résumé that includes previous work history;
2. a copy of the applicant’s latest teaching certificate (or a letter from the Louisiana
Department of Education verifying eligibility for certification as an administrator);
3. copies of the applicant’s last two years’ evaluation for the position currently held;
4. any Release of Information forms that may be required by the present school district or
other school districts where the applicant was previously employed (optional depending on requirements of employers);
5. three (3) letters of recommendation from supervisors or educational associates attesting to the applicant’s skills as a facilitator and coach in the learning environment.

Applicants must possess certification as Principal or Educational Leader or be eligible for
certification as verified by the Louisiana Department of Education.

Preferred but Not Required
Familiarity, training, or certification in the unique learning necessities of the student population described in the mission of the Maxine Giardina Charter School; training or familiarity with instructional models such as CABAS or other recognized models of Applied Behavioral Analysis.
