Our client is seeking a dynamic person to serve as the Chief Schools Officer (CSO) and member of the CMO executive team overseeing three local charter schools. The CSO will focus on building a high level of academic achievement and growth; upholding a high vision and bar for excellence though comprehensive data and assessment systems. The CSO will ensure the school develops an exemplary school culture model aligned to the School’s mission, vision and graduate aims. The ideal candidate will work closely with members of the school leadership teams to plan and execute on highly effective, professional development for teachers and leaders.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Ensure the School maintains its high level of academic achievement and growth, holding a high vision and bar for excellence through comprehensive data and assessment systems

  • Define and monitor key metrics to determine success of the academic program
  • Observe, diagnose and establish academic and character vision and goals for schools
  • Ensure that the designed instructional model meets the needs of all students with a specific emphasis on identifying and closing achievement gaps
  • Create a data-driven culture in curriculum and instruction

Ensure network schools develop an exemplary school culture model aligned to its mission, vision and graduate aims

  • Determine SEL models to align school culture systems with mission & vision across all campuses
  • Support schools in establishing clear systems, structures and routines to support school culture and SEL implementation
  • Establish, implement and monitor clear school & organizational culture goals and metrics
  • Provide professional development as needed aligned to school culture and SEL vision

Create, implement, support and monitor all elements of an effective instructional enabling system across all campuses

  • Develop implementation of the instructional model and all of its enabling systems
  • Monitor IES across all campuses to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Design and implement leadership team professional learning sequence to ensure effective implementation of IES

Work closely with members of the school leadership teams to plan and execute on highly effective, aligned professional development for teachers and leaders

  • Design year long professional learning expectations for all staff
  • Actively contribute to and seek best practices in teaching and learning in K-12

Directly coach, supervise & evaluate school leaders and leadership teams

  • Establish & monitor school leader goals and metrics
  • Build school leader evaluation system and monitor progress for each leader
  • Coach school leaders on alignment to the school leader expectations
  • Build a spirit of & system for collaboration across all school leadership teams

Serve as a member of the CMO leadership team

  • Partner with President/CEO & cabinet to ensure school success is aligned to the organizational mission and vision
  • Act as chief instructional lead in organization process and decision making

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years prior experience
  • Master’s degree in an educational field of study required
  • PhD preferred
