Advocacy

certsThe meaning of advocacy is "the act of pleading or arguing in favor of something such as a cause, policy or idea." Advocacy can take different forms from speaking to your state representative, to sharing a good news story with the media, to holding a community meeting to inform the public,  to the sharing of best practices among LAPCS members.

It is through the voices of those who work in charter schools, parents that choose to send their children to charter schools community leaders who have helped form a charter school, and people who support the idea of flexibility and choice in the public education of our kids that we can most effectively advocate on the behalf of charters.

The LAPCS will develop strong networking and communication within the charter movement to better communicate the successes of the charter schools to the public, elected officials and those influencing the state’s public education system.

To be successful will require the support of you, your family, friends and co-workers. So please take the time to share with us your charter school stories, as well as stay update on policy and legislative activities that impact us all.
